A contemporary carpet by us in the Ziegler Sultanabad manner
On a soft sand coloured field, large angular palmettes, serrated leaves and scrolling vines spread in an all over design, drawn in faded terracotta, sage green and slate blue. It is one of our own contemporary carpets, woven after the celebrated Ziegler carpets of Sultanabad, made in the late nineteenth century for western drawing rooms and still among the most sought after of decorative designs, with the same gentle, sun washed palette and open, generous pattern. A deep red border of palmettes and leaves frames the whole. Calm and easy to live with, it suits classic and modern rooms alike.
