A distinct collection!

Our collection reflects over 40 years of creating and curating fine carpets and rugs, each chosen for its individuality, story, and presence. Sourced and produced through extensive travel and deep experience, every piece carries a distinct character, shaped by care, curiosity, and the emotion woven into its warp and weft. We do not simply offer rugs, we present rugs with stories.

BY NASSER NISHABURI

It is by only sitting with the weavers and tying knots that one can feel the rugs better. Our designs are inspired and influenced by a rich heritage and culture. However, we have created new generations of rugs to fit the modern interiors of the 21st century.

VINTAGE CARPETS

Worn and tattered vintage rugs have patina and feel that is so calming and incomparable to contemporary rugs. Their colours have subdued with age and they have acquired amazing textures by decades of use. Our vintage collection is a special curation of real old pieces that are restored to serve and decorate your home for many more decades.

THE SILENCE COLLECTION

MODERN M copy.jpg

β€œSomething significant happened at Domotex Hannover this year. It might not have been obvious to all visitors, but a series of new works presented by Nasser Nishaburi broke important ground. The four new collectionsβ€”three by product designer Luis Eslava, and another made and named after Iran’s little known nomadic community, the Kowliβ€”present several small revolutions for Iranian carpets.”

MASTERPIECES

We have seen thousands upon thousands of carpets. Once in a while, we come across rugs that strand out far higher than others. This could be for many different reasons. This collection is about extraordinary rugs.

Often woven by ladies, these rugs are the most interesting manifestations of beautiful thoughts, feelings, and dreams of weavers inspired by nature and influenced by thousands of years of tradition and culture.

PERSIAN COLLAGE

Persian Collage was our innovation to bring rugs, once beyond use due to wear and tear, back to life. Each piece in this collection is a collection in itself, fragments of antique rugs, carefully restored and artistically joined together to form these marvellous creations.

CITY CARPETS

Such rugs are the result of months of work by several artists and craftsmen. A designer carefully drafts the pattern, the yarn is prepared and dyed by other masters and finally, weavers translate the design into stunning pieces with intricate patterns.

KILIMS AND FLATWEAVES

Scarcity is the mother of creativity. There are only limited geometric shapes that kilim weavers can make. This scarcity of options opens the way to the creation of some of the most unusual forms and symbols and marvelous use of colours.

β€œAnother stand-out element here is the abstract carpet from Nasser Nishaburi Singapore which was actually the starting point for the design process.”

— Susan Szenasy, Metropolis, New York, July 2, 2018
β€œNishaburi’s family history with the industry in Tabriz dates to 1750. The company founder wanted to take the Persian rug in a new, more modern direction, and that’s precisely how these collectionsβ€”the hand-made and -spun wool Silence Azerbaijan and the machine-made acrylic Silence Digitalβ€”came about.”
— INTERIOR DESIGN MAGAZINE MAY 2018
β€œThe Nishaburi family has been active in the Persian rug business since 1750. While the originally the family was based in Tabriz, Abbas Nishaburi has been operating out of Tehran since 1958. Over that long period, the Iranian rugs industry has ebbed and flowed as it followed developments in international marketplace both in terms of distribution and access, and taste and style: that the company now operates its own premises in China, Singapore, Malaysia, Chile and Germany is testament to the international nature of its vision.”
