Your Rug,

Your Story

There are as many types of rugs as there are designers and weavers. Sometimes, however, the rug you are looking for does not yet exist.

For those occasions, we offer a bespoke rug-making service, helping our clients create rugs that are truly their own—a realisation of their dreams and the materialisation of their ideas. Whether you have a clear vision, a sketch on paper, an architectural concept, a favourite textile, a painting, or simply an idea, we can help transform it into an exclusive handmade rug.

Drawing on more than six generations of experience in the carpet trade and over forty years of designing, producing, and curating rugs, Nasser Nishaburi guides clients through every stage of the process, from concept to completion.

Every custom rug begins with a conversation. Some clients arrive with finished designs, while others come with nothing more than a thought or a feeling they wish to express. Together, we develop the design, select the materials, refine the colours, and determine the most suitable method of production.

The result is more than a rug. It is a personal creation, made specifically for its owner, carrying a story that exists nowhere else.

Design Development

Every custom rug begins with a conversation.

Some clients come to us with finished designs, while others need assistance developing a concept. We can help refine proportions, adjust colours, simplify or enrich patterns, and adapt designs to suit both contemporary and traditional interiors.

Whether you are looking for a modern abstract rug, a minimalist texture, a reinterpretation of a historic Persian carpet, or a completely original creation, we can assist in developing a design that is uniquely yours.

Materials

The choice of material plays a significant role in a rug's character.

Depending on the project, we can produce rugs using:

  • Hand-spun wool of various varieties, including Persian, Kurk, Tibetan, New Zealand, and others.

  • Fine workshop-spun wool.

  • Natural silk.

  • A variety of other natural fibres, such as mohair, bamboo silk, Himalayan allo, and others.

Each material offers its own texture, appearance, and personality. Choosing a single fibre or a blend of materials is a fascinating part of creating a rug. We are always happy to discuss the characteristics and advantages of each option and recommend the most suitable materials for your project.

One of the most personal aspects of a rug.

Achieving the right shades and nuances of colour can be a painstaking endeavour. Depending on the client's requirements, colours may be produced using natural materials, requiring an artisanal dyeing process that is an art in itself and contributes greatly to the exclusivity and beauty of the final result.

Clients may choose their desired colours from our colour charts or provide their own samples, references, fabrics, artworks, or colour palettes. We are always happy to assist throughout the process, helping to refine and develop colours that are best suited to the design and its intended setting.

From subtle natural tones to vibrant hues, colour is one of the most powerful tools in giving a rug its unique character and personality.
