Persian Collage is a unique work of art that is made from the fragments of genuine old and antique Persian carpets and rugs.

A great Idea came to Mr. Abbas Nishaburi’s mind in 2006. During years of wholesale business, he had a small pile of carpets that were badly damaged due to various reasons. One could never ignore or write off beautiful Persian carpets; no matter how much they are damaged. So, those carpets were mostly gathering dust at the corner of the warehouse. As an experiment, he cut good parts of few of them and they were sewed together. The result was a patchwork that could be used and decorate a room nicely.

Since then much work has been done on this idea and Persian Collage has painstakingly developed by the Nishaburis to become one of the trendiest product around the world. Today, Abbas Nishaburi  sells various designs of this product in over 35 countries around the world.  

Persian Collage is a unique product that brings modernity and tradition together and represents a modern look that would match the trendy decorations of today.

The source for basic material:

Due to over 6 decades of experience, and with the family history of 3 centuries in carpet business, Abbas Nishaburi has developed a professional network of weavers and experts who work directly for him to either produce or find antique and old Persian carpets for his wholesale and retail business.

In past few years, the sourcing operation has been extended to find such pieces even when they are partially damaged or beyond normal use. Good pieces are used to make Persian collage, some of which become magnificent pieces that can be in museums or famous collections if they are in good conditions.

Each Persian collage is a collection of many different types of carpets that are carefully selected, washed, and restored, or sometimes even over-dyed and then artistically put together.

The Procedures of production:

The carpets and rugs, which are necessary for production of collage, are sent from all over Iran to the main base in Tehran. The carpets are then sorted and sent for washing and over- dying. After a long and tedious process, the materials are sent to production facility where the fragments are selected and tastefully match with each other and arranged to be made into Persian Collage. Many young and talented designers are involved under supervision of Abbas Nishaburi. Many of our customers around the world are designers who help us to constantly improve and update our designs and colors.
